Laid out across stunning prime seaside land, Conor J Walsh Golf were delighted to work with Gullane Golf Club. With three championship links courses, Gullane Golf Club was host venue for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open and the Ladies Scottish Open in 2018.
Working with golf course architect James Edwards, EDI Design and Stewart Duff, Golf Course Manager, Gullane Golf Club briefed Conor J Walsh Golf with the aim to transform the waste land at the front of the visitors clubhouse into a practical, but state of the art short game academy. This project would involve the recycling of all materials on site, including the blending of the route zone and translocating native rough grasses to new locations on shaped areas. The demands of this project required moving the previous 18th green to a new location and constructing a new putting green.
Gullane Golf Club were delighted with the end result, and that Conor J Walsh Golf managed to complete the project two weeks ahead of schedule, during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. This resulted in the course being able to open 6 months ahead of the planned opening dates.
